What is Sports Physiotherapy?
Our aim is to get you back on the field/court or track as soon as possible, whether that be returning to training or competition.
We concentrate on the prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and performance optimisation related to injuries incurred through sport and physical activity. Here we help athletes and active individuals of all levels — from weekend warriors to elite professionals — stay injury-free, recover safely, and perform at their best. Utilising evidence based data collection tools like VALD, recording Power and Range of motion, also using a Muscle stim device, Compex, to aid that performance recovery.
In essence, we help build on general musculoskeletal physiotherapy by applying sport-specific knowledge and techniques to each individual athlete.
Our Core Goals
- Prevent injuries: You don’t have to be injured, we can assess you to ensure you have power, Range of Motion and flexibility relevant to your sport and performance needs.
- Diagnose and treat injuries: Here we will give you an idea on the injury, timeline on recovery, manual therapy where needed and a progressive home exercise plan.
- Rehabilitation and return to Sport: This is when the fun begins, aiming to get you more powerful, confident and agile, in order to maximise your performance in the chosen sport.
